membership eligibility

Open to community and other non-profit organizations
who support the purposes of the Network and:
1.
is incorporated under state law
2.
has no part of its earnings going to any member, founder, contributor
or individual from its board of directors
3.
Is neither controlled by, nor under the direction of individuals
or entities seeking to derive profit or gain from the organization.
4.
Has a tax-exempt ruling from the Internal Revenue Service under
Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code
5.
Is not a public body (including the local city or town) or an
instrumentality of a public body. Either of these entities may be
the "sponsor" of a Community Housing Organization but
may not have the right to appoint more than one-third of the governing
board and no more than one third of the board can be public officials.
6.
Has among its purposes the provision of decent housing that is
affordable to low and moderate income persons as evidence in the
incorporation or by-laws.
7.
Maintains accountability to low-income community residents
