The Housing Network of RI works in collaboration with many
partners across the community in Rhode Island . In What's
New, we will feature items and work drawn from our partners
that bear directly on current events and issues.

"Everyone knows that Rhode Island needs more
affordable housing. How much more it needs- and where and
how it should be build - is a matter of growing and intense
community debate. Much of this debate focuses on the "10%
goal..."
This report is about more than evaluating the performance
of communities in achieving a prescriptive government goal.
Its about helping cities and towns figure out how much affordable
housing they should plan to create, based on fundamental considerations
like economic growth, community sustainability and helping
our neighbors.
In 2003, the Woonsocket Neighborhood Development Corporation
in conjunction with the Housing Network of RI commissioned
a Planning Study from i squared, community development consulting
entitled:
